In the spirit of the new year, the feeling of new beginnings arises. The different choices are limitless and it seems like there’s such a variety that it’s impossible to choose one. Well, personally I have no doubt what should be my best friend’s choice, and I decided to share it with you today.
You see, the thing about new choices is that there’s an uncertainty regarding the outcomes. Some choices might deliver good results, while others may fail us in the long run. For me, as an almost-olympic sleeper, the positive outcomes of better sleep are as clear as can be - but how can I reflect it for others?
As you know me, it didn’t take a long time until I’ve decided to document 2 full days of 2 different people - one that slept well, and one that didn’t. Let’s go through these 24 hours together, shall we?
The quality of our sleep, as well as its quantity, have an enormous impact over our lives, on every level. The ability to concentrate while doing our chores and tasks, along with the ability to stay focused on our main goals and aspirations. The competence to multitask without losing context in between tasks. The capacity of our patience is a whole lot better when we sleep well than when not. Our compliance for different situations we meet daily is better when we get proper sleep. Our capability to acknowledge and respect feelings, opinions and actions (whether they’re ours or someone else’s) is undoubtedly much more present after a good night’s sleep. The chance to actually remember to take care of ourselves within the pace of life dramatically increases when we are well rested and refreshed.
It’s not only that our well-being gets upgraded in general - it’s already evidence based data that shows the correlation between the quality of sleep and several cognitive-emotional-behavioral processes in our brains that exponentially provide us with the opportunity to live being as the very best version of ourselves.
Well, now that you have the knowledge, I’ll share with you one thing of my own: my goal for 2024 is very simple, even modest - I want to be better. Throughout my biohacking journey I get to better understand the importance of each health component and I must tell you - I tend to invest in my sleep.
We @elvy.ai invite you to join our journey, too, and share it with us on social media.
