We all constantly find ourselves conflicting between the short and long term choices. Between the will to get fitter and the option to spend our time on the couch, eating. Between the urge to travel and discover new places and the need to have a steady job in order to afford it. This ongoing inner fight keeps occurring, taking place in all kinds of choices, little and big ones, and it’s our cognition in charge of their management and balance. 

Being aware of this conflict is a tricky tip, as it might be also tougher to deal with when you overthink it… yet this awareness allows us to make smarter decisions and create a balanced bigger picture.

So every once in a while, make sure you give your long-term self a win, by taking care of your healthy well being, improving your opportunity to have a better lifestyle, even when the positive outcome is not to be seen yet.
