Tip #26: How cruelty-free is your sleeping environment?
As we learn to engage our environmental awareness into our healthy well being, this is a good opportunity to observe our previous choices. In elvy.ai we believe that the process of manufacturing of the most common household items should and could be completely cruelty free. Here are a few things you can check and change in case of need (or actually want):
Your pillow! The time when the human kind needed to use feathers for head support during sleep has long passed. Maybe try some new options next time you buy a new pillow. Btw, the same goes for blankets, too.
Your hygiene products! There is definitely no reason neither shampoo nor moisture will still need to be tested on animals. The world’s technology has come so far and it’s completely possible to try new products without any harm to living creatures. Not to mention that the recommendation for any new cosmetic product is to try it on yourself as a patch test to make sure you are not specifically allergic to any ingredient, so what good is this animal testing anyway?
Your electronic devices! I bet you didn’t see that one coming, but yes, many electronic products are being produced in contaminating processes, leaving our air polluted, with ecosystems damaged etc. So just take the producer's set of values into consideration on your next purchase. There are equally priced and even better quality products embracing cruelty-free processes, we all might just as well choose to support them.
