Tip #14: Valentines - it takes two to sleep well

While upgrading your own quality of sleep, you’ve probably noticed that some adjustments require collaboration. Having a dark-enough sleeping environment also requires your sleeping partner to keep it dark, as well as finding the temperature that fits you both etc.
This is a great opportunity to remind you that it takes two to sleep well, and encourage you to keep in mind that while you’re discovering your sleeping preferences, your sleeping partner is on this journey, too.
So, here are 3 practical tips to help you through these adjustments:

  • Find the midway - try some different options to learn each of your ideal conditions and choose an option that soothes you both.
  • Get creative - when you find yourself trying to control something you can’t, try to think of another way. For example, if you need a darker space, an eye mask can provide you with just what you need.
  • Share your resolutions with each other - learn the different effects that a better sleep has over your day-to-day lives and overall health. Nothing encourages us more than knowing our choices have a beneficial effect over our closest partner.
  • Seize the opportunity - engage pro-sleep activities together, like mindfulness, meditations, board games, cooking or just spend time together in a pro-sleep environment.
